  • The Strong Woman

There is an inner beauty about a woman who believes in herself, who knows she is capable of anything that she puts her mind to. There is a beauty in the strength and determination of a woman who follows her own path, who isn't thrown off by obstacles along the way. There is a beauty about a woman whose confidence comes from experiences; who knows she can fall, pick herself up, and move on.
    In life we do things
some we wish we had never done, some we wish we could re-play a million times in our heads. They all make us who we are and in the end they shape every detail about us. If we were to reverse any of them we wouldn't be the person we are, so just live, make mistakes, have wonderful memories, but never ever second guess who you are, where you have been, & most importantly where it is your going.

  • JANUARY 2008

I HAVE CONQUERED THE SICKNESS... well me and an anti-biotic :).  I feel so much better... you have no idea how exciting every day is!  I wake up with no fever and I can EAT!  Life sucks otherwise.  Anyway, I am so much better.  YAY!
Went out these past few days with a friend and his sister and nephew.  Friday night we ate Mexican food at La Garcia's - this hole in the wall place that has amazing food! Then we went to see  I am Legend, and we hadn't had enough movies so we rented Meet The Robinsons, and Rattitoulle - both very cute!  Today we went to an IMAX in Austin!  I've never been to the IMAX in Austin - it was really cool.  The feature was Sea Monsters from millions of years ago.  WAY COOL!  Then we went to Austin Java and had lunch... everything was like an hour wait and we wanted to go play putt-putt, so we snarfed some food down... it was all surprisingly good.  Of course, putt-putting is always fun.... I suck at it, but it's fun for laughs and good times.  We are making Italian food at home tonight... I am making Mancotti and my friend who happens to be the best guy cook I've ever met) is making stuffed chicken and sauteed spinach with mushrooms and a wine sauce... yum.  Afterwards, we are going to go bowling.  YES, I am the ultimate worst bowler, but I have so much fun and earlier this week I DID get my score up to a 71... probably my record best I would imagine :).  I will beat that tonight... if I don't have too much alcohol to effect my arm's swing.  Who knows?  lol
I have an interview Monday at a company that I am hoping will seem beneficial to my lifestyle... keep your fingers crossed.  I resigned from NBS for personal reasons - I left on good terms, but I am very excited to start somewhere else.  Will blog about the interview and let you know how it goes.
I am ALSO looking for a new place to live.  Left the old roomies for personal reasons as well, so I have a lot going on.  I am staying with my friend until I find a new job and a new place to live.  I'm hoping to find a one bedroom apt or a small studio that I could fix up... we'll see what happens!  Fate can do anything and I love to live by the seat of my pants... keeps things interesting.  I am hoping to really get into my artwork this year and see where that takes me on the side as well.  I really have a gift, and I don't intend to waste it by any means.
Well, before the Mancotti burns I need to go.  Do miss blogging, but I will be back soon.  MUCH LOVE!

  • Tis The Season To Be Sick

So the "Texas Shit" that I was whining about earlier turned out to be bronchitis and a kidney infection.  Good times.  I ended up in the ER the 30th bc my abdominal pain was so bad and I couldn't shake the fevers.  The doc put me on an antibiotic, so I'm doing somewhat better, but I can't shake the fevers or the nausea.  FOOD sounds soooo good... and then I look at it.  lol.  I think the last time I ate a full, real meal was last Thursday or Friday for dinner.  I dream of when I can eat, like really eat food again.  lol.

Other than being sick, my life does not consist of much more right now.  I get weak really fast and don't have much of a patience fuse anymore.

  • Blah.  I've been sick now for at least 3 days.  No fun.  I have that wonderful "Texas Crud"... more like "Texas Shit"... this sucks.  I've had a fever for two days and every time I think I'm getting better... another fever spikes.
My entire immediate family had this, so they weren't able to come to Dallas over Xmas.  I really missed all my siblings!  I did go to Dallas for about 5 days, and I started feeling under the weather there... hopefully no one else gets this mess.  Otherwise Xmas was nice.  I love to spend time with my grandmother and my Aunt Robin was also there.  They are like a breath of fresh air to me... thus it was a mostly relaxing visit.

About Me

  • So... I guess most people would call me goofy, happy-go-lucky and a good friend. I love art, the human body, writing, people, kittens, cool sheets, laughter, wine worth drinking, food worth eating, being outdoors, and nostalgic scents. I'm all or nothing, passionate in body and spirit, loving and compassionate, and a better friend than most will ever find. I live to find what this life is all about - I believe that everyone and everything can find an explicit purpose.
